student learning projects (2008 - 2013)
Making Sense: 2009
For the 2009 student project we extended the set of stimuli
to include objects, sounds, images, as well as the use of ARP
to derive diverse tools and techniques. To enhance students' reflective and analytical skills we asked them to keep a 'research log' of their journey of exploration. To test their
skills of selection we asked them to make a very short structured PowerPoint presentation of their project findings.

Prior to starting the project we asked the students to
complete a 'star' evaluation, assessing six dimensions
level of creativity, self-confidence, professionalism, collaborative capacity, open-mindedness, and
ability to be self-critical.
They also completed a post-project 'star' evaluation.
The results revealed increased levels of capability in all six dimensions, with significant increases (i.e. 25% plus) in confidence, creativity, and critical ability levels.
